John Hawes Experienced Traditional Conveyancing Lawyer

I specialise in property, particularly commercial leasehold property, including agricultural buildings, but also in residential property, and in Wills, tax saving, powers of attorney and probate In commercial property matters I act for both landlords and tenants. I also accept instructions in boundary and party wall disputes

I was educated at Westminster School and, after passing through the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth, spent a period as an officer in the Royal Navy before being admitted as a solicitor in 1972, and was a partner in a West End of London firm before moving to the country. I opened my own practice in 1983 and have been in Cirencester since then. I acted for some years as the representative for the Cirencester Legal Association on the Gloucestershire & Wiltshire Law Society and as chairman of the Association.

I am now a Licensed Conveyancer and Commissioner for Oaths doing the same work that I did as a Solicitor and to the same traditional standards. I am regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers and insured under the Council's scheme.

I have a long, wide and varied experience enabling me to bring a broad approach to legal problems by exercising skill and judgement. I offer a traditional, personal service. I always tell clients what is going on by automatically sending them copies of all relevant letters and documents. I ask my clients to ring me immediately if they have a problem to enable me to sort it out.

I prefer to communicate by email, or by fax or telephone, with letters going by post only when necessary, as when original documents have to be sent.

I am pleased to see clients in the office and am equally happy to deal at a distance which modern communications make quick and easy.

John Hawes specialises in commercial property law and has nearly 40 years experience in legal issues.
